10th Anniversary Gala

Please join us for the 10th Anniversary Gala Celebration of the Reach Performing Arts Center. Our thanks for your support that has made it all possible!

Be our guests at these free performances highlighting both Cabin Fever Theater and DIS School productions from the last five years. Songs from South Pacific, The Sound of Music, Kiss Me, Kate, Reynard the Fox and many more will be showcased as our thank you to the community for all the support given to us over the last ten years.

Built from the generosity of individual donors 10 years ago, the Reach Performing Arts Center has become the gift that keeps on giving.

When the new Deer Isle-Stonington Elementary School was built, residents and summer visitores to the island raised more than $800,000 to add the arts center to the school. Since then, it has been a venue for outstanding school and community performances, as well as hosting first-rate musicians, dancers and speakers from Maine and beyond. The facility has provided space for town meetings and other public gatherings.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary, Nelson Monteith, the Reach’s first director, will direct a gala revue featuring shows and performers from the center’s first decade.

The revue will be performed Friday and Saturday, July 29 and 30, 2011 beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

“It’s a thank you to the public that has supported us,” said Monteith. “This is our thank-you to the community for their years of support as donors, volunteers and audience members.”
